Hilton Garden Inn West Little Rock - General Manager

HP Hotels is offering a great opportunity to join an award winning, national hotel management company as the General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn West Little Rock. The hotel is only 3 years old with 133 guest rooms.  Recent awards include being ranked in the top ten Hilton Garden Inn branded hotels in 2015 and 2016, 2016 HP Hotel of the Year, and receiving the best HP brand service scores two years for the last two years.  

Centrally located in the city’s business district, the Hilton Garden Inn West Little Rock hotel is near many companies, corporations and hospitals. In bustling downtown Little Rock, the hub of the capital city is close by and is home to theaters and museums, restaurants, bars and exciting shopping opportunities. Guests can visit Little Rock attractions, such as the Little Rock Zoo, Verizon Arena, Pinnacle Mountain and The River Market, all easily reached from our friendly hotel in Little Rock, AR.

This challenging but rewarding position has overall responsibility for managing the operations of the hotel to maximize profitability, ensure superior service and product quality, and drive brand and value initiatives, hotel performance, the development of people and communication between departments.

Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for the day to day operation of the hotel with an emphasis on sales, development of people and quality assurance.
  • Delivers results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction and effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Maintains a quality product.
  • Ensures exceptional guest/employee relations.
  • Maximizes room revenues by anticipating and planning for market shifts; develops and monitors strategic marketing prospects; develops, implements and monitors annual business and marketing plans and participates in appropriate national marketing efforts.
  • Develops and maintains rapport with key community contacts to ensure a visible presence in the local community.
  • Oversees the security function to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and hotel assets. Establish and maintain a proactive human resources function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage/benefit administration and compliance with policies and procedures and labor regulations.
  • Monitors the performance of financial and operational plans for the hotel which support the overall objectives of the corporation.
  • Develops the annual budget and makes recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the company and brand loyalty.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

The following are basic requirements for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent hotel and management experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a General Manager.
  • Hilton experience preferred.
  • A proven track record of meeting budgets, an understanding of P&L statements, budgets, and cost/inventory control.
  • Yield management experience preferred and a successful sales background is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and PC (Windows-based software) skills will be required.
